A drawing tool for rice-paste floor art
Alpana Studio: Draw a Pujo Alpana
About alpana
Alpana is Bengal's floor art, drawn by hand with a paste of soaked, ground rice, using a fingertip or a scrap of cloth. Before Pujo, Lakshmi Puja and weddings, courtyards and thresholds fill with lotuses, conches, paddy, fish, creepers and little footprints leading inside the house. Draw yours here: every line repeats around the centre like a real alpana.
How to play
- Choose Draw and drag your finger. Pick how many times it repeats (symmetry) and turn mirror on or off.
- Pick a stamp (lotus, Lakshmi's feet, shiuli, conch, paddy, fish, dots) and tap to place it in every segment.
- Stuck? Start from the classic design and add to it. Your work is saved on this device.
- Save the image or share it straight to WhatsApp as your Pujo greeting.
