Barowari Committee: Run your Para's Pujo
Twelve friends
Barowari is usually explained as baro (twelve) and yaar (friends). The story goes that around 1790 in Guptipara, Hooghly, twelve young men collected money from the village to hold a Pujo open to everyone. Every para committee since has faced the same questions: how much chanda, which idol, how grand a pandal, whose dhakis, and who eats the bhog.
How to play
- Each card is a day on the Pujo calendar or a surprise. Pick one choice; costs are shown, the effects are revealed after.
- Watch four things: the fund, the para's mood, your Pujo's fame and the twelve committee members.
- Going into debt or upsetting the para can make friends quit, and some choices need enough members.
- Play in para mode: pass the phone and see whose committee does best.
