Conch-blowing contest
Shankh Challenge: Blow the Conch
In the para
The shankh (conch) is blown at every arati, and on Pujo evenings many paras hold a contest to see who can blow it the longest in a single breath. Mothers and grandmothers often win. It is all about a steady, controlled breath, not just strong lungs.
How to play
- Three contests: the longest single blow; three arati blows (each at least 1.5 s, with short breaths between); or a steady note that is neither too soft nor too loud.
- Mic mode: allow the microphone, stay quiet for a second, then blow. The live graph shows your breath; stay above the dotted line.
- In a noisy pandal, set sensitivity to Low; in a quiet room, High.
- No mic? Hold the screen or space to blow, and slide up/down (or ↑ ↓) to keep the note in the green band. Your sound is measured only on your device.
